CSR Zhuzou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd is affiliated to Zhuzou Electric Locomotive Research Institute (ZELRI), which was founded in 1959. It is located in Zhuzhou, Hunan----The cradle of Chinese electric locomotive.  

    After years of development, ZELRI has become an institute with three industry sections (transportation, new material and new energy) and seven main business units. As a holding parent company, it has two listed companies: Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric Co., Ltd (H Stock) and Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (A Stock). It has employees more than 60,000. Its total assets is more than RMB 5 billion and sales volumes are nearly 3 billion.

    ZELRI is mainly engaged in management and new industry development. Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric Co., Ltd. is specialized in pioneering the traction system of railway transportation field and expanding to the railway related fields. Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd. is focused on the R&D of damping products, polymer materials and insulating materials.

    ZELRI has two R&D centers of national level and two postdoctoral stations. Its eight key products are: AC drive system, electronic control and train communication network, safety monitoring system, power semiconductors, rubber dampers, sensors, and electric vehicles. It is involved in the engineering research of electric drive system for electric locomotives and the converter for civil use and dedicated to the development and manufacturing of electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, metro and light rail vehicles, passenger cars, large maintenance machinery, electric control equipment for electric vehicles, power electronic equipment, sensors, new materials, electric vehicles, and wind power generation products.

    Those products have been extensively used on railway, city transportation, mine field, metallurgy, chemical industry, machinery, electric power, architecture, cars and have been exported to North America, European countries, Western Asia, Eastern Asia, etc. 

    ZELRI enjoys high reputation in railway industry field. It is the sponsor of National Engineering Research Center of Converters, the designated enterprise for the localization of AC drive system and control system of urban rail transportation equipment, the sponsor of Electric Traction Equipment Testing Station of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of Ministry of Railways, and the Secretariat of IEC/ TC9 international electro-technical standards in China. As one of the high-tech enterprises in Hunan, it has independent operation rights to export and import high-tech products.
